Parents of young bassists are welcome to accompany their children to the workshop free of charge. However, for security reasons, all participants must register and obtain a badge. Parents/chaperones may purchase lunch for $10/day.

Is it possible to borrow or rent a bass?

Due to Hawaii’s geographic isolation, there are only a limited number of basses to borrow or rent. These will be made available on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is highly recommended.

I am from out of town and won’t have a car. Is there public transportation to and from the workshop venue?

City buses will bring you near the school, but not on campus. The distance from the main gate to Performing Arts is considerable (about 5 minutes uphill, driving). Whenever possible, we will help with rides for out of town participants.

Is it safe to leave my instrument at the workshop site overnight?

The Kamehameha Schools campus is very safe. The workshop venue is locked at the end of each day and the premises are under 24-hour surveillance.
